Contrary to evolutionist thought, human beings are more than just advanced animals. We are undeniably connected to the rest of creation, sharing in its beauty and complexity. We are also distinct in a profound and meaningful way.
We are part of God’s creation—but we are not merely like the animals.
From the beginning, humanity—Ad’am—was gifted something unique: free will and reason. These are not accidental traits or byproducts of biology, but intentional gifts that reflects our origin in God. Through them, we can choose to think, to discern, and ultimately to seek what is true and good.
Our will is not meant to wander aimlessly. It is meant to be guided by reason—to seek, desire, and live out the knowledge of God and His Truth. This is the path we are called to walk. Not one of instinct alone, but of conscious, meaningful pursuit of the divine.
And we do not walk this path alone.
Through the saving work of Jesus Christ—who is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, we are freed from the power of sin and death. His sacrifice opens the door to something far greater than mere existence: an invitation into eternal communion with God.
This communion has been beautifully described as a kind of “holy dance”. A life of love and fellowship within the mystery of the Holy Trinity. It is not static or distant, but dynamic, relational, and alive.
At the heart of it all is love.
God, in His love, has given each of us an ultimate purpose: to know Him and to love Him. To know Him is not simply to understand facts about Him. To know Him is to be united with Him, to live in relationship with the One who created us. To love Him is to participate in agape—a self-giving, sacrificial love that reflects His own nature.
And this love is not meant to be kept to ourselves.
We are called to serve God by sharing this truth with others and by living lives that reflect His goodness. It is our purpose to invite others into that same relationship.
Heaven, then, is not just a distant goal. It is the fulfilment of what we are made for: to love and enjoy God forever.
But that journey does not begin after death—it begins now.
Here on earth, through the exercise of our reason and will. And with the help of God’s abundant grace, we take the first steps. Each choice, each act of love, each movement toward truth is part of that journey.
We were created for more.
And in responding to that call, we begin to become who we were always meant to be.
